SEKA plans to
build a theatre and museum / Cultural Centre for tourists to visit. It shall
provide a rare and interesting insight into the lives, past and present, of
the Kunda people. The centre will host various activities from story-telling
evenings, to traditional meals to dramatic performances of Kunda history.
All income from the centre will fund future projects.
In addition to the tourist attraction, the centre shall be a
base from which to train theatre groups in theatrical and facilitation
skills. There shall be a resource centre with books and videos on theatre,
community work, HIV/AIDS, the environment and many others. This centre will
provide a forum for people to research ideas and read up on various issues
relating to the programme. The plot will also be a site where experimental
beekeeping, fish farming and reforestation programmes shall take place; to
be introduced into the communities if they are a success.
